Straight talk on cost

What Actually Determines Your React Native Rate

Mobile is where published pricing misleads most. Half the market quotes a fixed price for "an app" before knowing what it does, and the other half publishes an hourly rate that means nothing without the seniority behind it. We do not publish a single number. We publish the six things that move it, and we give you a firm quote in one working day instead of a proposal in a week.

Seniority

An engineer who builds screens from a Figma file and one who can bridge a native module, profile a stuttering list and own your release pipeline are different products. We will say which one your work needs.

Team size

One engineer and a pod of four are priced differently. Per-head cost drops as the team grows, because our overhead per engineer drops with it. A pod also keeps your release train moving during leave.

Contract duration

A three-month engagement and a two-year one carry different rates. Mobile products are rarely finished at launch, and longer commitments price better because our recruitment cost is spread across more months of work.

Payment terms

Advance, milestone and net-30 billing are not priced the same. Tell us what your finance team needs and we will price around it rather than pretend the payment terms make no difference to us.

Where you contract from

Indian clients are quoted in rupees at domestic rates with GST. International clients are quoted in US dollars. Two markets, two rate cards, both set fairly for the market they serve. You will never be handed a converted dollar rate in India.

Remote, onsite or hybrid

Most engagements run remotely from Coimbatore. Some do not: we have deployed mobile engineers full time inside client offices in Chennai, Coimbatore and Bengaluru. Onsite carries relocation and allowance costs so it is priced separately, but it is genuinely available.

A firm quote in one working day

Tell us the platforms, the seniority, how many engineers and roughly how long. You get a written quote with the rate, the minimum term and the notice period inside one working day. No discovery call required first, and no obligation after.

Hiring in India? You will be quoted in INR at domestic rates, not converted from dollars.
Your risk, removed

Four Things We Put in Writing Before You Pay

Hiring an engineer thousands of kilometres away is a leap of faith. These four commitments are in every contract we sign, not buried in a proposal deck.

5-day free trial

Work with the engineer for five business days at no cost. Real tickets, real sprint, your tools. If it is not a fit, you owe nothing.

Replacement in 5 business days

Unhappy with the engineer at any point in the engagement? We replace them free of charge within five business days. No argument, no invoice.

100% IP ownership

Every line of code, every commit, every design file is yours from the moment it is written. Assigned in the contract, not promised verbally.

Mutual NDA signed before you share anything. Our information security is independently certified, so your security review already has an answer.

Who hires us

Four Situations Our React Native Engineers Are Hired For

If one of these sounds like your quarter, you are in the right place.

Ship to both stores without two teams

You have a product and the budget for one mobile team, not two. One React Native codebase gives you a real iOS app and a real Android app from the same engineers, the same sprint and the same bug fix, instead of two backlogs that drift apart within a quarter.

Take over an app someone else built

The app is live in the stores, the agency that built it has gone, and nobody has opened the repo in a year. You need engineers who can get an unfamiliar React Native project building again, work out what the native side is doing, and ship releases without breaking what works.

Add mobile capacity to your own team

You have a team, a backlog and a headcount gap. Our engineers join your standups, your tracker and your repo and report to your lead. Remotely from Coimbatore, or onsite at your office — we have deployed mobile engineers into client offices in three Indian cities.

Put your existing product on a phone

The web application works and your customers now want it in their pocket. We build the mobile app against your existing API, decide honestly what belongs on a phone and what does not, and get it through App Store and Play Console review rather than handing you a build file.

On the backend

A React Native engineer builds against an API. They do not build the API. If your project needs the server side as well, pair them with a Node engineer or a PHP engineer rather than expect one person to be excellent at both. We staff all three.

On design

Our engineers work from Figma and implement a design faithfully, including the platform differences a good design accounts for. They are not product designers. If the screens do not exist yet, hire a UI/UX designer alongside them. We staff those too.

On when native is the right call

React Native covers most business and consumer applications well. It is the wrong tool for heavy real-time video processing, augmented reality or anything built on a game engine. We staff Swift and Kotlin engineers as well, and we will tell you plainly which one your product needs.

One team, the whole mobile estate
We Also Staff Native iOS, Native Android and Flutter

Most of our mobile work is React Native. But if your product needs a native screen, a native module, a second platform team or a Flutter codebase you already own, the same account covers all of it.

Native iOS

Swift and Objective-C, SwiftUI or UIKit, App Store submission and review

Native Android

Kotlin and Java, Jetpack Compose, Play Console releases and staged rollout

Flutter

Dart and widgets, platform channels, and maintenance of an existing Flutter app

Mobile QA

Automated and manual testing on real devices, plus release management

This is not theoretical. Across a nine-year relationship with Presidio, a global digital services provider headquartered in New York, we deployed React Native, iOS and Android developers alongside QA engineers and business analysts, working onsite at their Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru delivery centres. Read the Presidio case study.

Not on Our Bench? You Still Get a Profile.

Most vendors go quiet when the exact skill you need is not sitting idle in their office. We do not, because our own bench is not the only bench we can reach.

In-house first, always

We start with our own 80+ engineers in Coimbatore. If the match is on our payroll, that is who you get, because it is the fastest and most accountable option for both of us.

30+ partner companies across India

Where we do not have the match in-house, we have standing partnerships with more than 30 established Indian IT services companies and access to their benches. Far wider reach than any single company's bench, without going near an anonymous freelance marketplace.

One point of contact, same guarantees

You deal only with us. We source, screen and assess the engineer, we hold the contract, we send one invoice, and we carry the accountability. The 5-day trial, the 5-business-day replacement, the IP assignment and the NDA all apply exactly the same way.

This is not theoretical. It is how we sourced and screened 250+ profiles and got 30+ JavaScript engineers onboarded for Biz2Credit inside three months — a volume no single company's bench in India could have covered alone. Read the Biz2Credit case study.

React Native Apps We Have Shipped

Three live client engagements: one long-running maintenance estate, one custom build for the shop floor, one web product taken to mobile. Two of the three are in the public app stores today. We will walk you through any of them on a call, with the engineers who did the work.

International Training
Scuba diving training agencies · Florida, USA

React Native applications for iOS and Android, live in both stores today, sitting on top of a Laravel, WordPress, Moodle and WooCommerce estate we also maintain. We took the systems over from another team and have been shipping releases ever since.

  • Apps live on Google Play and App Store, rated 4.6 with 10,000+ installs
  • In-app update notification system, so the client can prompt users to install a new version from admin panel
  • Course certificates downloadable inside the app while the device is offline
  • Automated testing in the stack, alongside ongoing maintenance of four legacy web platforms

"Their team quickly grasped the complexities of our system, they have boosted our productivity and enhanced our ability to deliver more projects on time. At this point they understand our system better than most of our internal staff." — Flemming Elleboe, CTO

Jewellery manufacturing & retail · India

A gold jewellery manufacturer running four businesses on paper records. We built a React Native app that turns a phone into a barcode scanner for the shop floor, paired with a web admin platform that controls who can use it.

  • React Native app scans jewellery barcodes and captures weight, purity, quantity and touch percentage per piece
  • Order lists by shop with total weight, customisable filters, and download and share straight from the phone
  • Admin panel controls mobile app access for new users, so the shop floor never manages its own logins
  • Designed in Figma, manually tested on device, deployed to App Store; Android published March 2024

How We Vet, and How You Should Test Us

Every vendor claims their developers are "A+". Here is our actual process, and the questions we think you should use to check whether it worked.

Our screening process

  • CV and stack screen Role-specific filter against the mobile skill matrix above: which React Native version, Expo or bare workflow, and which stores they have actually shipped to. Not a generic keyword match.
  • Scored technical assessment Run on Xobin. Only candidates who pass this go any further, and you get the report alongside the CV so you see the score before you interview.
  • Live coding round A real problem in React Native, solved while we watch. No take-home assignments, because those can be outsourced.
  • Technical interview with a senior engineer Navigation and state architecture, native module bridging, render and list performance, offline handling and store release experience, run by someone who does the job.
  • Communication check and reference verification They will be on calls with your team, so we check that directly. Prior employer verification before any offer.

We hire for retention, not just for skill. That is why our attrition sits under 5% while the Indian IT industry average is 20 to 25%.

What you should ask us to prove

  • Interview the actual engineer, not a sales lead. Ask us to put the engineer on the call unaccompanied. If a vendor resists this, walk away.
  • Give them an unfamiliar app to open. Most mobile work is inheriting someone else's project. Ask what they would do first with a React Native repo nobody has touched in a year. A real engineer talks about native folders and dependency tree.
  • Ask how they would fix a list that drops frames when you scroll. Then ask which tool they would open to find out why. A good engineer names the tool.
  • Ask who will own the store accounts. Your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts should be in your company's name from day one, not your vendor's. Ours always are yours.
  • Ask who owns the code. Get IP assignment in the contract, in writing, before day one. We assign it by default.
  • Ask what happens if it is not working. Get the replacement window and notice period in the contract. Ours are 5 business days and 30 days.
  • Ask for the attrition figure. Very few vendors will give you a number. It is the best single predictor of whether your engineer is still there in month nine.
Engagement models

Pick the Model That Fits, Not the One That Suits Us

Three ways to work with us. The differences that actually matter are hours, minimum term and who manages the engineer day to day.

Model Hours Best for Minimum term Notice to exit Who manages day to day
Dedicated full-time
Best value per hour
8 hrs/day
5 days/week, approx. 160 hrs/month
Ongoing product work, roadmap delivery, filling a headcount gap 3 months 30 days Your lead, in your sprints
Dedicated part-time 4 hrs/day
5 days/week, a fixed daily window agreed with you
Maintenance, a second pair of hands, specialist input alongside your team 3 months 30 days Your lead, in your sprints
Hourly / time & material
Most flexible
As needed
billed on actual hours worked
Short scoped work, spikes, audits, unpredictable volume None 2 weeks Our project manager, or yours — your call
Three things worth spelling out
  • Starting is fast, whichever model you pick. Your engineer is onboarded and working two working days after you sign off. None of these models has a waiting period at the start.
  • "Notice to exit" applies only at the end. It is how much warning you give us when you want to close the engagement, so we can plan the handover properly and redeploy the engineer. It has no bearing on how quickly you can start.
  • Part-time means four hours every working day in a window we agree with you upfront, not eighty hours to be spent whenever. That way your engineer is predictably there for your standup and your working sessions, rather than disappearing for a fortnight and then working double.

All three models include the 5-day free trial, the 5-business-day replacement guarantee, 100% IP assignment and a signed mutual NDA. Daily standups and weekly written reports are standard. We work in your tracker — Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Asana, Zoho Projects or ours. Onsite deployment within India is available and priced separately.

Why us over the other 200

Six Things Most Offshore Vendors Cannot Say

Every one of these is a fact you can check, not a claim you have to take on trust.

Attrition under 5%

The Indian IT industry averages 20 to 25%. Ours is under 5%. In mobile this is the whole ballgame: the engineer who knows your release pipeline, your store accounts and your native workarounds takes months to replace. Ask any vendor for their number.

80+ engineers on our own payroll in Coimbatore, and that is always where we look first. Where the match is not in-house, partnerships with 30+ Indian IT companies give us the reach — with us still holding contract and accountability. How that works.

We deploy onsite in India, not just remotely

Over nine years we placed React Native, iOS, Android, QA and business analysis professionals into Presidio's delivery centres in Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru. If your requirement genuinely needs people in your building, we can do that.

You talk to engineers, not account managers

Your engineer joins your standup, your tracker and your repo, and reports to your lead. No layer of project management wedged between you and the person writing the code.

Before you commit to a framework

React Native, Flutter or Native: Which Should You Actually Build On?

All three will produce a good app. The difference decides how many engineers you hire, how easily you replace one, and how much the product costs to own in year three. Here is our honest read, from a team that staffs all three.

Consideration React Native Flutter Native iOS + Android
What it isJavaScript or TypeScript with React, rendering real native platform components.Dart, drawing its own interface with its own rendering engine on both platforms. Two separate codebases, Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, with no abstraction layer.
What you get out of the boxReact, the npm ecosystem, Expo tooling, over-the-air updates, hot reload, and code you can share with a React web app.A complete widget set, strong animation performance and genuinely good tooling, in a self-contained ecosystem.Everything the platform ships, on release day, with no third-party runtime to keep current.
Best suited toBusiness apps, marketplaces, commerce, internal tools and anything whose web front end is already React.Brand-led or heavily custom interfaces where you want the app to look pixel-identical on both platforms.Apps built around the device: camera pipelines, augmented reality, background processing, watch and widget extensions.
The team you need to staff itOne team of JavaScript engineers, with someone who can drop into Swift or Kotlin when a native module is needed. One team of Dart engineers. Dart is used nowhere else in your stack, so it is a separate hiring pool. Two teams, or two specialists shipping in sequence. Roughly double the mobile headcount for the same feature set.
Hiring market in IndiaBy far the largest, and it overlaps with your React web hiring pool. Easiest and fastest to replace someone who leaves.Real and growing, but smaller. Dart experience does not transfer in from anything else, so the pool refills slowly.Deep and mature, but you are hiring twice, and senior iOS engineers in particular are expensive.
Access to a brand new OS featureUsually a wait, for a community library or for a native module one of your own engineers writes. The same wait, through a plugin or a platform channel you write yourself.Available the day Apple or Google ships it. Nothing sits between you and the platform.
Where it is headingThe New Architecture and Hermes engine have closed most of the old performance gap. Meta ships it and the ecosystem is the largest of the three.Actively developed and stable, with a smaller but committed community and a narrower package ecosystem. Not going anywhere. Both platforms will always need it, and every cross-platform framework sits on top of it.
Our honest recommendationFor most business and consumer applications, choose React Native, and if your web front end is already React it is not a close call: one language, one hiring pool, one codebase, and engineers who can move between your web and mobile backlogs. Choose Flutter when the product is a heavily custom, brand-led interface you want rendered identically on both platforms, or when you already own a working Flutter codebase. Choose native when the app is built around the device rather than around your data. We staff all three, which is why we can tell you plainly that React Native is where the depth of our own team sits.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hiring React Native Developers

Including the ones most vendors dodge.

How much does it cost to hire a React Native developer from India, and why don't you publish your rates?

Because in mobile a single published number is worse than no number at all. Half the market quotes a fixed price for "an app" before knowing what the app does, and the other half publishes an hourly rate that tells you nothing about who you are getting. Six things set the real rate: seniority, how many engineers you take, contract duration, payment terms, whether the engagement is remote or onsite, and whether you are contracting from India or overseas. A senior engineer on a two-year rupee-denominated Indian contract with advance billing, and a junior engineer on a three-month hourly engagement billed net-30 in dollars, are genuinely different prices — publishing one figure would mean overquoting most Indian clients or underquoting most overseas ones. What we will commit to is speed: tell us the platforms, the seniority, the headcount and roughly how long, and you get a firm written quote with the rate, minimum term and notice period within one working day. No discovery call required first, and no obligation after.

Is React Native still the right choice, or should we use Flutter or go native?

For most business and consumer applications, React Native, and if your web front end is already React it is not a close call: one language, one hiring pool, one codebase, and engineers who can move between your web and mobile backlogs. Flutter earns its place when the interface is heavily custom and brand-led and you want it rendered identically on both platforms, or when you already own a working Flutter app. Native is the right answer when the product is built around the device rather than around your data — camera pipelines, augmented reality, background processing, watch and widget extensions — or when you need a new OS feature the day it ships. We staff all three, so we have nothing to gain from steering you, and there is a full side-by-side comparison further up this page.

Can you take over a React Native app that someone else built?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Most mobile work is inheriting a project rather than starting one. Our normal approach is a short paid discovery: an engineer gets the app building locally on both platforms, maps the modules and the native side, audits the dependency tree for abandoned libraries, and documents what exists and what the risks are. You get that written up before any long-term commitment. If the app is in worse shape than you were told, you will hear it from us at that point rather than three months in. International Training handed us systems they had not built, and we run them today.

Our app is several React Native versions behind. Can you upgrade it without a rewrite?

Usually, yes. Moving an app forward several React Native releases, or onto the New Architecture, is normally a phased upgrade rather than a rewrite. We work through it in planned steps: dependencies first, then the native project files, then the abandoned libraries that need replacing, testing on real devices at each stage, with the app still shipping to your users throughout. It takes longer than a rewrite looks like it would on paper and it costs far less, because you keep every behaviour your users already depend on. A full rewrite is occasionally the right answer, and we will tell you honestly which one your codebase needs.

What if the engineer turns out not to be a fit?

Two things protect you, and both are in the contract. First, a five-day free trial: you work with the engineer for five business days at no cost, on your real tickets, in your sprint, using your tools. If it is not a fit at the end of it you owe nothing and there is no notice period to serve. Second, a free replacement within five business days, at any point in the engagement and not just during the trial. You do not need to justify the decision to us. Because our engineers are in-house in Coimbatore rather than sourced from a marketplace, we can act on that quickly.

Who owns the code, the intellectual property and the app store accounts?

You do, all three. IP assignment is written into the contract before work starts, alongside a mutual NDA, and it covers source code, designs and documentation. We do not reuse your code on other projects.

The store accounts are the part buyers often miss until it hurts. Your Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts should be registered in your company's name, owned by your company, with us added as a developer — not the other way round. We set it up that way by default. If a vendor is holding your store listings under their own account, changing vendor means transferring or republishing the app, and your reviews and install base are at risk. Ask about this before you sign with anyone.

How quickly can a React Native developer start?

Three matched profiles within 48 hours of understanding your requirement, each with a technical assessment report attached. Once you have interviewed and signed off, the engineer is onboarded and in your standup within two working days. If we cannot meet that for your specific requirement, we will tell you before you start interviewing rather than after.

Do you handle App Store and Play Store submission and releases?

Yes. Our engineers prepare the builds, submit them, write the store metadata, respond to review feedback and manage staged rollout on Google Play. We have taken apps through both stores repeatedly — the International Training apps are live in both and still shipping updates, and the Compass Tex app was released to both stores this year. Review rejections are part of the job rather than a surprise, and we will tell you upfront when something in your requirement is likely to attract one, which is usually payments, account deletion or permissions.

Can your React Native developers work onsite at our office?

Within India, yes, and we have a nine-year track record of it. Across our relationship with Presidio we deployed React Native, iOS and Android developers, QA engineers and business analysts into their delivery centres at Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru, working inside the client's own project teams rather than alongside them. Onsite deployment carries relocation and allowance costs so it is quoted separately from a remote engagement, and it needs a longer commitment to make sense for both sides. For clients outside India we work remotely, with an agreed daily overlap window; short onsite visits for kick-off or a critical phase can be arranged separately.

What timezone overlap do you provide?

Our team is in Coimbatore, India (IST, UTC+5:30). For UK clients that gives four to five hours of natural overlap. For US clients our engineers shift their hours to provide a minimum of four hours' overlap, which comfortably covers a daily standup and working sessions. We have run a multi-year engagement with a Florida-based client on exactly this model. The overlap window is agreed in writing before the engagement starts.

How do you vet your React Native developers, and can I interview them myself?

Our screening runs in five stages: a stack-specific CV screen against our mobile skill matrix, including which React Native version, whether the work was Expo or bare workflow, and which stores they have actually shipped to; a scored technical assessment on Xobin, which a candidate has to pass before going any further and whose report you get alongside the CV; a live coding round on a real React Native problem; a technical interview run by a senior engineer covering navigation and state architecture, native module bridging, render and list performance, offline handling and store release experience; and a communication check plus reference verification. We do not use take-home assignments because they can be outsourced.

On top of that you can interview as many engineers and run as many rounds as you like, at no cost, and we will put the engineer on the call without a salesperson present. If you want to pair with them on a real ticket from your backlog for an hour, we will arrange it. Most clients run their own technical rounds as well, and any vendor who resists that is worth being cautious about.

What if you don't have the engineer I need, or I need a whole mobile team rather than one developer?

We look in-house first, across our own 80+ engineers in Coimbatore. If the match is not on our payroll, we have standing partnerships with more than 30 established Indian IT services companies and access to their benches, which gives us far wider reach than any single company's bench. Either way you deal only with us: we source, screen and assess the engineer, we hold the contract, you get one invoice, and we carry the accountability, with the 5-day trial, the 5-business-day replacement, the IP assignment and the NDA applying identically.

Teams work the same way. A typical mobile pod is one senior React Native engineer, two mid-level engineers, a QA engineer and a part-time UI/UX designer, with the senior engineer acting as your technical point of contact, and per-head cost is meaningfully lower than hiring the same roles individually. We have also staffed at much larger scale when needed — 250+ profiles sourced and 30+ JavaScript engineers onboarded for Biz2Credit in New York inside three months.

Do your React Native developers do the backend and the UI/UX design as well?

To a working level, but we would rather you did not rely on it. A React Native engineer builds against an API and can read and reason about one, but they are not your backend engineer. They implement a design faithfully from Figma, including the platform differences a good design accounts for, but they are not a product designer. If you need the server side or the screens designed from scratch, hire those as separate roles — we staff Node, PHP and UI/UX people, and a three-person pod costs less than you would think. We would rather tell you that upfront than have one engineer half-doing three jobs.

Do you work with Expo, or only bare React Native projects?

Both. Expo with EAS Build and over-the-air updates is a good default for a new app and it removes a lot of build tooling pain, particularly for a team without in-house iOS and Android experience. A bare React Native project makes sense when you need deep native module work or you already have one. Our engineers work in either, and if you are starting fresh and undecided we will give you a recommendation based on what your app needs to do rather than what is fashionable. If you already have a bare project and someone has told you to migrate to Expo, ask them why first.

What is your engineer attrition rate?

Under 5%. The Indian IT industry average is 20 to 25%. We publish it because in mobile work it matters more than almost anything else: the value you are buying is an engineer who knows your release pipeline, your store accounts and the native workarounds in your codebase, and that value resets to zero every time one leaves. We would encourage you to ask every vendor on your shortlist for their number, in writing.

Let's have a discussion. If you have an idea and want to make it happen, or if you want to learn more about how we work. We will schedule a call with our project manager.

Techno Tackle is an ISO 27001:2022 certified software company in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, providing dedicated React Native developers to product companies, startups and enterprises in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Japan. Our engineers work in React Native and TypeScript with Expo or the bare workflow, covering navigation and state architecture, native module bridging, push notifications and deep links, camera and barcode scanning, offline storage and sync, biometric login, payment SDKs, and release management through App Store Connect and Google Play Console. They join your team, your sprints and your repository rather than working behind a delivery wall, remotely from Coimbatore or onsite at your facility in India.

Most mobile work is not a greenfield build, and we do not pretend otherwise. It is inheriting an app someone else wrote, getting it building on both platforms again, replacing the libraries that have been abandoned, upgrading several React Native releases without freezing the roadmap, and keeping a product your customers already use shipping while it improves. That is what we do for International Training in Florida, whose iOS and Android apps are live in both stores today with an in-app update system we built, alongside the Laravel, WordPress, Moodle and WooCommerce estate underneath them. It is why their CTO says our engineers understand the system better than most of his internal staff.

We staff native iOS in Swift and native Android in Kotlin as well, and Flutter where a client already owns one, so we can give you an honest answer about which of the three your product should be built on rather than selling you the only thing we do. Across a nine-year relationship with Presidio we placed React Native, iOS and Android developers, QA engineers and business analysts into their delivery centres in Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru, embedded in the client's own project teams. We have been doing this for over eleven years with the same leadership and the same delivery centre, across more than 400 clients and 1,000 projects, and we are a registered partner in Anthropic's partner network, so our engineers work with modern AI tooling rather than against it.

What we compete on is retention: our engineer attrition is under 5% against an industry average of 20 to 25%, which in mobile is the difference between an engineer who knows your release pipeline and one who is learning it again. Every engagement includes a five-day free trial, free replacement within five business days, full assignment of intellectual property to you, and a signed mutual NDA, and your Apple and Google store accounts stay in your own company's name throughout. Whether you need one React Native engineer to close a headcount gap, a pod to take a web product to mobile, or developers onsite at your facility, tell us the role and you will have a firm written quote within one working day and three matched profiles inside 48 hours. Indian clients are quoted in rupees at domestic rates; international clients are quoted in US dollars.
